Visiting Bremerton? Here’s five places to check out:
One: USS Turner Joy Warship Tours
Located right on the downtown Bremerton boardwalk, the USS Turner Joy now serves as a floating museum.
Two: Bug & Reptile Museum
Live and preserved bugs. Reptiles. What’s not to love? Kid-friendly activities and a gift shop.
Three: Harborside Fountain Park
This place is packed during the summer with kids playing in the fountains. The park features several large fountains that blast water into the air like a volcano.
Four: Illahee State Park
The park was established when Kitsap County donated 13 acres to the state in 1934. The park’s old-growth stand is home to one of the nation’s oldest Pacific yews, which has been standing for approximately 400 years. Park activities include picnicking, camping, hiking, boating, and shellfish harvesting.
Five: Elandan Gardens
Just off of WA-16, see waterfront gardens with a world-class bonsai collection and the landscape artistry of Dan Robinson.
